The girls varsity soccer team made school history last night when they defeated the Charleroi Lady Cougars in section play by a score of 2-1. It marks the first time that Beth Center defeated Charleroi in girls varsity soccer history. Sydney Urbine started off the scoring with a soaring shot to the net to give the Lady Dawgs a lead 1-0 lead at halftime. Sierra Phillips added her own long range shot to secure the lead for good. Goalkeeper Mikayla Kanalis played one of her best career games and is credited with the win as she stopped numerous shots on goal. Casey Falcon continues to do an outstanding job of shutting down the opposing team’s top player. The Bulldog defense of Emily Lacey, Emily Jenkins, Daniesha Cole, and Baylee Swarrow worked as a unit to stop a potentially dangerous offensive threat by the Lady Cougars. Strong performances were also turned in by Hanna Harhai, Olivia Flowers, Ella Boothe, and Madison White. The Beth Center Girls Varsity Soccer team will take to the field again on Saturday at noon as they travel to Chartiers Houston to avenge an overtime loss earlier in the season. Good luck to the Lady Dawg Soccer Team!
