Hundreds of thousands of High School student athletes have had their careers cut short due to the current shutdown of our Schools.   VNN Sports and the WPIAL Athletic Directors wanted to give some of these Students added recognition as they get ready to move on to the next phase of their lives.  Our senior Student Athlete spotlight series continues with Kevin Cakanac from Franklin Regional:

School Activities: Hockey & Lacrosse

Athletic Accomplishments: 4 year letterman in 2 sports, winning the Pens cup as a freshman, going to the all-star game my senior year for hockey

Favorite memory of high school athletics: Beating Norwin with a hat trick in my first game ever as a freshman

Favorite high school subject and favorite teacher: Biomedical Sciences with Mrs. Beno

Favorite food: Steak & Lobster

Favorite movie: Step Brothers

Professional athlete you admire most: Evgeni Malkin since he’s a Russian beast

Who has had the greatest influence on you as an athlete: My Dad, he has been committed to be there at my sports events even with his strenuous work schedule and has always been an inspiration to me.
